Description
Brief Introduction
In coal mining applications, the delta-connected three-phase motor often serves as the primary power source for the main components of the mining machine, earning it the name “main motor.” Typically, this main motor features output shafts on both ends—one drives the cutting section, while the other powers the traveling mechanism. It usually has a box-shaped design and is securely attached to adjacent machine parts using fastening bolts, forming an integral part of the mining equipment. Due to the hazardous environment, these motors must be explosion-proof. Modern coal mining motors are predominantly water-cooled, with stator water cooling being the most common method.
