About Project
The polysilicon industry is at the heart of the global solar energy movement, serving as a vital supplier of raw materials for photovoltaic power generation. As solar power continues to gain traction as a clean and sustainable energy source, polysilicon production facilities must rely on stable, high-performance motor systems to ensure continuous operation of hydrogen compressors, vacuum pumps, and other key rotating equipment used in high-purity environments.
At Simo Motor, we specialize in engineering high-voltage, explosion-proof motors that are ideally suited to the demands of polysilicon manufacturing. Our motors offer robust insulation, enhanced thermal tolerance, and long service life—enabling our clients to operate under challenging conditions such as hydrogen-rich atmospheres and high ambient temperatures.
Our Client’s Challenge
Two leading polysilicon manufacturers—Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Tianwei Sichuan Silicon Co., Ltd.—faced challenges in motor reliability and hydrogen compressor performance. The original motor systems suffered from overheating, insulation breakdown, and were not compliant with upgraded Ex-certification standards. The clients needed to upgrade their entire motor infrastructure to maintain safety, improve uptime, and meet expanding production targets.
Our Approach And Solution
Simo Motor supplied a total of 16 units of YB800-14 10KV Ex dIIC T4 high-voltage flameproof motors to Jiangsu Zhongneng’s Phase III polysilicon expansion in 2008. Each motor was matched to hydrogen compressor load requirements and designed with Class H insulation for enhanced thermal resilience.
For Tianwei Sichuan Silicon’s 3000t/a production line in Leshan, we delivered 24 units of YAKK560-10 500KW 10KV Ex eIIT3 high-efficiency increased-safety motors and 4 units of YA400M-10 170KW 380V Ex eIIT3 motors for hydrogen applications. These motors featured reinforced stator windings, anti-sparking enclosures, and vibration-damping mounts to meet continuous-duty standards in hazardous areas.
All installations were carried out in coordination with EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with national Ex safety regulations and seamless commissioning.
